I liked Never Enough--the first book in this series--and gave it a good review, but I regret wasting my time and money on this tiresome story. (WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!)I couldn't stand Ty Shaw, our "hero," a bull riding champion whose career ends when his leg is badly injured in a car wreck. He wallows in self-pity and loses himself in painkillers, alcohol and scores of meaningless one-night stands. He regards women as just another form of "stress relief." He's afraid of a meaningful relationship, thinking it will end badly and he'll be hurt again. This wimpy guy might've been good on a bull, but he has no balls of his own! The author tries to make him sound manly by littering his speech with dozens of annoying f-bombs. Sorry. It doesn't work.Enter Kaylee Holden, our heroine, a newcomer in town. She meets Ty in a bar (of course), they share a magical kiss, and it's insta-lust. They crave sex with each other, but he's afraid of being hurt or hurting her (yeah, hurt is a really big deal with him), so he avoids her until they get snowed in together and almost have sex. They give in to their cravings a month later in page after page of explicit sex. I've got nothing against steamy sex, but a detailed description of every orgasm (8!) is a bit much.Kaylee decides she's in love with this guy, but he thinks he's not good enough for her because he's "broken." Good grief! You'd think he's the first person on earth who's ever been hurt. I got so tired of his "poor me" attitude. He has a good job on his family's ranch and a beautiful woman who thinks she loves him (though I can't imagine why). Buck up, for Pete's sake!No plot description from me this time, because there really is no plot--just sex and lots of talk. At 72% in, our lovers meet in a hotel, have sex and a long, heart-to-heart talk, and Ty finally decides he's in love. Thank goodness! All's well that ends well, I guess. I'm just glad it's over.Perfect proofreading (not one error!) raises my rating to two stars overall. Always Enough is the second book in the Meet Me in Montana series. I loved this one just as much as I loved the first one. Those Shaw men will just steal your heart. This is Ty and Kaylee's book. Of course you should read the first one to get the background on Ty and Kaylee. But just know this Ty is in full healing and recovery mode in this one. He is still living in his nightmare after the accident to where everything he loved was taken away. He never felt whole again until Kaylee entered the picture. Kaylee is strongly independent and is struggling with her own demons. I love how she tackles everything in her farm house head on with the I can do it attitude. She is Ty's perfect match. I love the chemistry between them. I love watching them heal each other. Ty and Kaylee when they are together are smoking hot. You are going to fall in love with them from the very start. This book stole my heart and then some. I can't wait to see where Kelly Elliott gives us next in the Meet Me in Montana series. I couldn't get enough of this one.
